It may be another Hallmark holiday, girls night out or date night with bae, but there’s no denying that Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to spice up your style, own your sexy and make the streets your runway. Now here’s the exciting part: It doesn’t have to result in wearing a short dress and showing lots of skin!
Skip the supershort dresses and plunging necklaces. If you feel overexposed and uncomfortable, you won’t feel confident- which is the opposite of sexy. This year switch up your style borrow from menswear with a touch of sequins with this look below!
I’m sharing three style tips below that will change your approach to what to wear on a date forever!
Blazer: Zara | Camisole: ASOS | Pants : L’Ecole Des Femmes | Shoes: Stuart Weitzman | Bag: Chloe
What to Wear on a Date When You’re A Jeans & Tee Girl
Stick to Classics- This is not the time to experiment something super trendy. If your date is casual select a camisole or button-down (with a hint of cleavage) paired with a blazer (or a bomber). The goal is to show off your favorite asset: legs, waist, bust or butt and add a pop of color on your lips.
Strategically show skin- Try a spaghetti-strapped top that shows off your shoulders and strong arms. Wearing a layer instantly gives a third piece making it an instant outfit. Even under a slip dress opt for a fitted turtleneck with long sleeves; it leaves something to the imagination while highlighting your silhouette.
Keep your jewelry to a minimum – Women often over accessorize, wearing large earrings, a statement necklace and multiple bracelets all at once. It’s overkill. Let once signature piece shine and keep the rest to a minimum. I love a thin choker or long dainty layers.
