If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been on a jumpsuit kick. Jumpsuits are a great alternative to a dress and freshen up your wardrobe. If you work in a flexible office, creative field or own your own business, I encourage you to play with your work style. Ditch the jeans and a blazer or a suit and get creative with proportions by trying a jumpsuit for your 9-5 attire. Unsure of how to make it work for work? See my styling tips below for adding this one-piece wonder to your work-week wardrobe.
I recently re-watched one of my favorite movies this weekend, ‘Annie Hall,’ and created an updated look inspired by Diane Keaton’s quirky French girl meets NYC chic. I love this affordable Tobi midi jumper, which looks very sexy when worn solo so (Hey, Valentine’s Day!) I toned it down by adding a pussy bow blouse and finished the look with my go-to fave Janessa Leone hat.
Here are some styling tips for making a jumpsuit work for you:
Keep it structured: By nature, jumpsuits tend to be a little on the looser side. Be sure to find an option that has a strong shape that accents your waist.
Add a statement/conversation piece: A great cuff, scarf, or necklace will add visual interest to this stand-alone item.
Keep it simple: For the office, stay away from patterns and instead keep it simple with neutrals or monochrome—and then accessorize with color. See my pop of green.
Add a layer: I added a hat, but love a structured blazer for a meeting to add bit more polish and structure to your jumpsuit.
