A TWIST ON A CLASSIC DRESS IN YOUR CLOSET

February 21, 2017

Here’s a twist on a classic dress you probably already own and a new way to style it during these chilly months. You may have seen the turtleneck style under a slip dress, but today I’m showing you a twist on a classic fit-and-flare shift dress. You probably have stuffed your sleeveless dresses in the back of your closet during or maybe have been styling them with blazer. The most elegant way to avoid completely freezing is to buy a few tight turtleneck tops.  By adding a black turtleneck or a complimentary color underneath gives it a completely new look and add a touch of class.

I’ve been a fan of Saloni’s colorful artwork patterns and versatile dress is a must have for all seasons. This dress adds a bit of ethic flare to a 9-5 wardrobe and is perfect for a gallery day at The Broad. This universally flattering fit-and-flare silhouette is a staple for every women’s closet. I complimented this look with “French girl” inspiration tassel flats and reflector shades making this an easy outfit for on-the-go. See below for how I styled this look as well as links to a few of my favorite fit and flare dresses for all body types and budgets to add to your closet.

This is a really beautiful look! I need to get a little more bold because I don’t wear dresses often. I always feel like I look weird, but it’s because I’m always in my sweatpants and tee shirts LOL!! Maybe this spring will be the time for me to try one out.

Kelley- I love dresses, but it really depends on your lifestyle and how you want to present yourself. If you work from home a lot it might not be something to invest in, but It is always good to have 1-2 shift dresses in a navy, black or red. Let me know if I can assist you in your shopping decision for you body type. Thank you for your comment.

First off I would like to say you are gorgeous. Secondly, I’m digging the dress. I am not fond of dresses so finding the right one is a plus for me. Thank you for the post. I am going to look at more goodies on your website.

Love the dress – the patterns and colors are so pretty!

Thank you so much Sabs. If you have any styling questions, let me know!

This is a GREAT idea, so now, this dress can be used all year long! How cute, I love the long sleeve with it and adding some tights and boots would be a perfect wintery fit! Thanks for the ideas, pics are super cute!

Oh yes! Boots is fun idea too! I’m just in love with these loafers as they remind me of Paris. If I lived back in Chicago I would definitely try boots and tights. Thanks for your feedback! Stop by again and let me know if you have any styling questions!
